"Protect Your Heart, Build Your Muscles"

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), their fitness program of aerobic exercise and weight training is a very effective way of reducing cardiovascular disease. The AHA believes that by introducing the use of weights into your training, that you can increase your cardiovascular endurance and strength. It also mentions that you do not have to do excessive reps to accomplish the workout you want to achieve, but rather less reps at a slower pace and proper form will give just as an effective workout to help reduce your chance at cardiovascular disease. Another point the article points out is that by getting more "buff", that will increase your basal metabolic rate.Your basal metabolic rate is what is determined to see how many calories you can burn when you are at rest or resting. Also the article says that by burning more fat from working out, the healthier you will be.
What I found interesting about this article is that by doing very basic and minor exercises everyday you can decrease you chances at developing a cardiovascular disease.A person wanting to start taking a step to getting in shape doesn't have to go all out, and kill themselves from exhaustion, and possibly developing some kind of injury from that.Another thing that I found interesting was that you do no have to do as many reps to achieve the workout you want to.I always knew that doing reps slower was better, but I didn't know that after so many reps, they only have a minimal effect.
